Tuesday night training sessions.

The Tuesday night training sessions have been very well attended , we have averaged 22 players . The P.P.A. members have also been training and we have 7 regulars attending. All ex-players are most welcome to come and enjoy these great nights.
At the local village gala the Kirkby History society put on a superb display of old photographs from various decades throughout the history of the club . As mentioned previously, this was part of the K.U.F.C. Centenary celebrations.

K.U.P.P.A.

Since our return from Malta we have decided to form a ' Past Players Association' for Veteran o-40 players. The training we did as a group prior to our Malta trip was excellent and we all had a great time. Whilst we were away we had several discussions about past players , old team mates who would have loved to have been on the trip; Thus the KIRKBY UNITED PAST PLAYERS ASSOCIATION was born.
We are , as yet , not too sure what form it will take but maybe something along the lines of a training group, a team that plays friendlies against other vets team , and of course, travels for games in Europe.!

ITALY 2000

The first time we ventured abroad.....the squad pictured on a very hot Italian June evening in 2000.

KIRKBY UNITED F.C. SENIORS.

Kirkby United F.C. is an amateur Football Club based in the South Cumbrian village of Kirkby-in-Furness. The earliest known photo of the village team dates from 1906-07. This makes this season 2006-07 our Centenary year.

In order to celebrate the fact we had a Tour to Malta in April of this year 2007. We took a party of 30, 14 over- 40 players indeed 7 are over-50(our senior squad is pictured left), 9 of our current first team squad and various past and present officials. We were the guests of Floriana.F.C. a Maltese Bank of Valletta Premier League team.

The tour was a great success and the hospitality shown to us by the Maltese was First class.

This is the second time we have 'played in Europe' as part of the Millennium celebrations in 2000 we had a tour to Italy. We played in a mini-tournament in Formigine, a small town not far from Modena. Again our hosts made us most welcome.
